ALiSHA PERSAUD
Using art as a means of expression is usual. And that is my goal, too; I am barely different from the normal. My only uniqueness comes from my reason to.

I attribute my artistic temperament to the experiences and feelings I've undergone throughout my brief time here. But more specifically, my experiences and feelings as a person who lives "touched with fire," quoting Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison.

I live with Manic-depressive Disorder Type I, commonly referred to as Bipolar I Disorder today. Among the other conditions I manage on my day-to-day, it is the most challenging. The most consuming and most debilitating. I speak for myself.

I live treated for this disorder, but the touch of fire never leaves. Instead, it evolves. I adapt.
Creativity relieves my psyche.

Manic, depressed, mixed, or psychotic, I've created some of my most personally appreciated work through episodic states.

It's an itch.
